WHAT ARE THE AGES?

4-8 beach camp w/surfing, 8-17 surf camp, 8-17 surf club, Lessons all ages

WILL MY TEENAGER FIT IN?

the bulk of our surf camps are 8-12 but about 10% are teenagers and they are grouped together our Surf Club however is mostly teenagers.

WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER SURFED BEFORE?

that is why you chose us!  our professional staff will teach all levels whether beginner or experienced

DO I NEED MY OWN EQUIPMENT AND WETSUIT?

We provide boards but you can bring your own (we are not responsible for any damages to personal belongings).  We will not offer wetsuits except for private lessons.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS SEPARATION ANXIETY?

This typically only happens when parents stick around.  Our staff is able to help every child overcome their fears and feel comfortable at our camps.

CAN I STICK AROUND?

we do not recommend this because of performance anxiety (and separation anxiety) and from experience with my own 2 little ones, kids thrive better and are more brave when parents are NOT around. If you choose to, we ask that you stay where the child can not see you unless you are taking photos of course :)  It is also difficult to know who is watching them if they are with you.

ARE SWIMMING SKILLS REQUIRED?
no swim skills required except in our JG Prep, Surf Club & Lessons

 

WHAT IS THE RATIO?

5:1 staff ratio (surf will always have 3-5:1 ratio and 8:1 ratio for beach games, water play and boogie boarding)

ARE THE INSTRUCTORS CERTIFIED?

Yes, everyone is CPR, First Aid and AED certified and the lead instructors are lifeguard certified

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

we love surfing in the rain unless lightening or heavy rains.  If the conditions do not permit, we will reschedule your lesson or camp.

WHAT IF SURF or CONDITIONS ARE NOT SAFE?

We still hold camp.  We supplement with beach games and do smaller groups in the water if safe enough.

DO YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS?
yes, scroll down to the footer and click on Scholarships on left.  The city camps, you would call the city for
their scholarship.

 

HOW DOES THE ALL SEASON PASS WORK?

You get a discounted price for 10 weeks and you can come any time between 9-3pm during those 10 weeks but must be on the roster so register in advance. 

DO YOU OFFER SIBLING DISCOUNTS?

yes, there is a 10% discount for every additional child on your first order

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

Due to high demand, we can only provide a refund if your request is made 10 days prior to the camp start date.  If your request is made within 10 days of the start date, we will gladly issue a camp account credit so that your camper can attend when it is more convenient that year.  In both cases, and admin fee of $25 will be assessed.

WHAT IF MY CHILD IS SICK?

Please do not send your child to camp if they are sick.  We do not allow makeup days. 

DO YOU OFFER CHILDCARE BEFORE OR AFTER CAMP?

We do not offer aftercare, but you can sign up for early drop off for an additional fee of $10.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE A DAY?

We do not allow makeups.  If you would like to change the week your child is registered for, please let us know and if we are able, we will accommodate with a $25 admin fee.

WHAT DO WE BRING TO CAMP?

lunch, snacks, bottle water (1/2 ice), towel, sweatshirt, hat, sunscreen, warm change of clothes, wetsuit if you would like one.  Boogie boards are shared so bring yours if you want to & label all gear. Also, money is optional for restaurants, the pier stores, farmers market runs & camp hat.  This is automatically emailed to you along with directions when you register.

WHAT DO WE BRING TO LESSONS?

swim suit, towel, water and signed release form (we provide the wetsuits and board)
